Step into 900 years of rich history from the 11th century to today within the Castle, Maiden’s Tower, Battel Hall, Fairfax Barn, parkland and gardens. Owned by Kings and noblewomen throughout the centuries, this location has forever been a place of relaxation and lavish entertaining.

After passing through many hands the castle and estate, sadly in ruins by the end of the 17th century, marked a rebirth in the 1800’s when it was rebuilt in part and renovated. Lady Baille acquired the castle when looking for a country retreat in Kent. She saw the castle’s potential and had the style, imagination and funds to carry out the necessary modifications. Under her guardianship throughout the 1930’s it entered its party era, hosting statesmen, European Royalty, film stars and the upper echelons of society at many a lavish bash thrown by Lady Baille.
